Die-Cut

Die-cut means that we are cutting through both the vinyl sticker material and the paper backing. This cut type doesn't leave any material around the sticker. Another way to look at it is to think of it like a "cookie cutter." Your stickers are all individually cut out to the contour of your design, so you have individually cut stickers with no paper material around the design.

* Please note, back slit (crack and peel) is only available on stickers 2" x 2" up to 12" x 12".

* If selected on sizes larger than 12" x 12" your decals will not be backslit

Kiss-Cut Bear Sticker | Stickers.com

Kiss-Cut

Kiss-cut means we are only cutting through the vinyl layer ("sticker material") and not cutting through the paper backing, leaving a paper material border around your sticker. When you choose a kiss-cut sticker, you will have extra material around your sticker for easy peeling.

Preferred Files for Printing

The maximum file size we accept is 100 MB. Our preferred file types are:

  • Adobe Illustrator EPS (Encapsulated Post Script)
  • PDF (Adobe PDF)

When submitting these files, make sure you convert all fonts to outlines or curves to ensure they print correctly and the fonts are not substituted.

File Tips

  • Set up size proportionate to the exact size product you are ordering 
  • Convert all text to outlines 
  • Only Allow for bleed if necessary
  • Never flatten/merge layers in a PSD file
  • Indicate the cut line clearly for all decal products

Vector Art

Vector art consists of lines and curves that are mathematically defined objects. When viewing art in key line mode you can see the points or vectors when connecting your lines and curves. They can also be seen when using the pen tool or editing the points along a path. Vector art is ideal for type and drawn shapes because they can be enlarged to any size while maintaining crisp outlines and details without sacrificing quality. The distance between the vectors is calculated mathematically and is not dependent upon resolution. 

Raster Art

Raster images consist of colored squares, called pixels. They are created by combining a series of various colored pixels. Digital photographs are made up of pixels. If you view a raster image at 200% or more you are able to see the individual pixels that make up the image. Raster images are dependent upon resolution so image enlargement is limited by the individual size at which the file was created. If a file is produced at a size that is larger than its resolution will allow, the quality will decrease. Printing a low resolution file will result in pixelation. Individual pixels are large enough to be easily discernable. Increasing the resolution will not solve this problem is there are not enough pixels to begin with. The program will add more pixels based upon the estimation of their location and will then assign their neighboring pixels's color value. This may cause an image to look muddy. 

If submitting these files, please follow the guidelines below:

  • 100% scale (full size output) at 100 dpi
  • 50% scale at 200 dpi or higher
  • 25% scale at 300 dpi or higher
  • 10% scale at 600-1200 dpi recommended

What are wall stickers made out of?

Our wall stickers are digitally printed on either a 3 millimeter standard tack adhesive vinyl material or a 3 millimeter extreme tack adhesive vinyl material. The standard tack vinyl offers UV protection and scratch resistance, protecting against scratches and fading. This standard vinyl material ensures durability, with up to a 5-year outdoor lifespan when properly applied and maintained. The extreme tack vinyl is ideal for low-energy surfaces and is designed for superior adhesion. Its lamination provides UV protection and scratch resistance, guarding against scratches and fading. Expect a lifespan of 3–5 years when this vinyl material is correctly applied and maintained. All of our wall stickers have a matte finish.

What shapes do wall stickers come in?

Do wall stickers have a glossy or matte finish?

Wall stickers are available in a matte finish. Matte laminate diffuses light and reduces the shine of the ink making text easier to read from all angles since it doesn’t glare.

These high-tack wall stickers are designed for surfaces that need increased adhesion, particularly with high VOC paints.

It's important to mention that leaving a sticker on a wall for an extended period may lead to some paint peeling upon removal.

Can I reposition my wall sticker?

Our wall stickers may be repositionable at the time of application. However, once the sticker is fully applied it will maintain its position and cannot be reused or repositioned.

How large can a vinyl wall sticker be?

The maximum size wall stickers can be produced is 120” wide and 52” high. Larger displays can also be created by using multiple sticker panels together.

How do I design my custom wall stickers on your website?

To make your own wall sticker, start by deciding what your message is. Then, pick a size that will fit your lettering. Next, add any clipart or graphics using our online design tool, located in step 3 of your ordering process. If you need assistance, contact our customer service team.

Do you have stock images I can use for my wall stickers?

No, we do not have any stock images or numbers for printing. All of our wall stickers are custom, meaning you can design them yourself, or connect with our graphic designers for assistance.

What are the best surfaces to place wall stickers on?

They adhere best when placed on non-porous smooth surfaces like painted walls, metal, glass, plastic and tile. These stickers will not stick well to brick, concrete, or other rough or porous surfaces.

What surfaces or material do wall stickers not stick to?

Wall stickers do not stick well to dirty or textured surfaces, such as brick walls. For the highest quality application, you will want to make sure the surface is clean, dry, and smooth. If you have dirt, dust or texture under your wall sticker, it will not stick well and will peel off of the surface you placed it on. Reason being, the adhesive material isn’t attaching to the surface as needed when there is dirt, dust, or texture on the surface you are applying it to. Can wall stickers be used on freshly painted walls?

Wall stickers may be applied to freshly painted walls in accordance with the guidelines placed by the paint manufacturer. Many paint manufacturers suggest allowing a period of 2 weeks to 1 month for the paint to properly set before applying wall stickers.

Can wall stickers be used on wallpaper?

Wall stickers may be used on wallpaper, however keep in mind that the wallpaper texture and quality may contribute to how well the sticker adheres to and is removed from the surface. If the wallpaper does not have a paint coating, the sticker adhesive may pull the wallpaper from the surface upon removal. This is especially true if the wall sticker has been in place for a long period of time.

Does heating a wall sticker make it stick better?

The adhesive on a wall sticker works better in warmer temperatures. The ideal temperature for applying a wall sticker is room temperature (60 to 74 degrees Fahrenheit). It is more important to make sure it isn’t cold when applying a sticker. Just like how we don’t like to move in the cold, the glue film on the sticker will harden in the cold making it less sticky during your application. Check out our blog for more details!

How do I remove my custom wall sticker?

We advise using a direct heat source, such as a blow dryer or heat gun, to break the sticker's adherence. Be careful that some surfaces (on which your sticker is affixed) may sustain damage if heat is focused in one location for an extended period of time. Why won’t my wall stickers stick?

It’s likely the paint. Some paints contain a compound called no-VOC or low-VOC. That means the paint is more fire retardant, and smudge proof. The higher the VOC in something, the easier it is to burn. The manufacturer 3M says, ”Paints that are low in Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are now the most commonly available wall paint. These newer paint formulations are being driven by laws intended to help protect the environment – something we can all appreciate. However, the new paint formulations have reduced how well a film’s adhesive can adhere to a painted wall. “ 3M also had this to say, “With the rapidly changing formulations of paints, there is no single film or adhesive from any film manufacturer that works best on all painted surfaces.” Wall Stickers may also not stick due to the wall texture and temperature fluctuations. Test them out by ordering a sample packet.
