Die-Cut Stickers vs. Kiss-Cut Stickers

Die-cut means that we are cutting through the sticker and paper backing, whereas kiss-cut means we are only cutting through the adhesive sticker part.

For more in-depth information about the cut options, please visit our Die-cut vs. Kiss-cut guide.

Die-Cut Bear Sticker | Stickers.com

Die-Cut

Die-cut means that we are cutting through both the vinyl sticker material and the paper backing. This cut type doesn't leave any material around the sticker. Another way to look at it is to think of it like a "cookie cutter." Your stickers are all individually cut out to the contour of your design, so you have individually cut stickers with no paper material around the design.

* Please note, back slit (crack and peel) is only available on stickers 2" x 2" up to 12" x 12".

* If selected on sizes larger than 12" x 12" your decals will not be backslit

Kiss-Cut Bear Sticker | Stickers.com

Kiss-Cut

Kiss-cut means we are only cutting through the vinyl layer ("sticker material") and not cutting through the paper backing, leaving a paper material border around your sticker. When you choose a kiss-cut sticker, you will have extra material around your sticker for easy peeling.

Clear Decal & Window Cling Guidelines

When submitting these files, make sure you convert all fonts to outlines or curves to ensure they print correctly and the fonts are not substituted.

File Tips

  • Set up size proportionate to the exact size product you are ordering
  • Convert all text to outlines
  • Only Allow for bleed if necessary
  • Never flatten/merge layers in a PSD file
  • Indicate the cut line clearly for all decal products

Vector Art

Vector art consists of lines and curves that are mathematically defined objects. When viewing art in key line mode you can see the points or vectors when connecting your lines and curves. They can also be seen when using the pen tool or editing the points along a path. Vector art is ideal for type and drawn shapes because they can be enlarged to any size while maintaining crisp outlines and details without sacrificing quality. The distance between the vectors is calculated mathematically and is not dependent upon resolution.

Raster Art

Raster images consist of colored squares, called pixels. They are created by combining a series of various colored pixels. Digital photographs are made up of pixels. If you view a raster image at 200% or more you are able to see the individual pixels that make up the image. Raster images are dependent upon resolution so image enlargement is limited by the individual size at which the file was created. If a file is produced at a size that is larger than its resolution will allow, the quality will decrease. Printing a low resolution file will result in pixelation. Individual pixels are large enough to be easily discernable. Increasing the resolution will not solve this problem is there are not enough pixels to begin with. The program will add more pixels based upon the estimation of their location and will then assign their neighboring pixels's color value. This may cause an image to look muddy.

If submitting these files, please follow the guidelines below:

  • 100% scale (full size output) at 100 dpi
  • 50% scale at 200 dpi or higher
  • 25% scale at 300 dpi or higher
  • 10% scale at 600-1200 dpi recommended

Design Services

If you are not able to provide us with a print ready artwork, we do have a vectorizing/recreating service available. Most logos or images can be recreated for $70. Artwork design service discounts may apply.  Please contact a sales representative today for more details.

This service needs to be paid for in advance and we will be happy to give you a copy of the vector file once it is complete.

What are your window clings made out of?

Our window clings are printed on 4 millimeter transparent or 4 millimeter white vinyl material. Both of which are made for both interior and exterior applications.

What’s the difference between clear and white window clings?

The only physical difference between the two is the color of the material. One is transparent and the other is white. However, the intended use for each material is what makes them much different. Clear window clings offer the advantage of being see-through on the areas where ink is not present. Thanks to this quality, they are commonly used on storefronts or other retail locations to advertise your promotion, sale, or products while still allowing your customers to see the product or store behind the sticker. White window clings are often used when using full color artwork throughout the entire design of the window cling. This works well for promoting sales, products or business hours on a storefront. Don't forget to delve into our blog to learn how window clings can be use enhance privacy in your space.

With the clear window cling option, how do I know where it will be clear?

The window cling will be clear on any area(s) that your graphic isn’t showing. So the portion of your graphic that will remain clear is based on what you are printing. If you are designing a clear cling using our online designer, then in the order notes let us know specifically where you want the cling to appear transparent.

Can I place my window cling on the inside of my window and have it be visible from the outside?

Yes, we offer both back adhesive and front adhesive options for your window clings. If you would like to place your window cling on the inside of your window and have the graphic visible to people on the outside, then please select the ‘Front Adhesive’ product option.

How small or large can my window clings be?

Our window clings can be printed as small as 2” high x 2” wide and as large as 52” high and 120” wide. You can also create larger displays by combining multiple decal panels together. Please contact us if you need an extra large cling and we will guide you through the process.

What is the lifespan of your window clings?

Our window clings have an estimated 3 year lifespan when properly installed and maintained.

Are custom window clings easily removable or repositionable?

Yes, window clings use a low tack adhesive that allows you to apply, remove, and reposition your cling multiple times. If you are looking for a sticker that offers a more permanent application, check out our clear stickers!

Will clings ruin my window glass or any other surfaces I place them on?

No, as long as you apply and remove your window cling properly you should not see any damage to the surfaces that you place them on. If you do end up with some sticky residue left behind, we recommend using a light cleaning agent to remove it.

Do clings work on tinted windows?

Window clings can work on tinted windows, but you should determine whether your tint was factory installed or done aftermarket. If factory installed, then it will be housed on the inside of the glass and therefore a sticker will not cause harm. Please note that if the tint was installed aftermarket, then the window cling may pull some tinting off upon removal. If you’re concerned about a vinyl cling lifting the aftermarket tint, then try a static cling. They do not use any adhesive, just nature.

Do window clings have a glossy or matte finish?

Window clings are available in a glossy finish. Gloss laminate adds a shine to your stickers that reflects light creating a more vibrant color than the matte finish.

Are your stickers laminated?

Only our back-adhesive window clings come laminated with our premium lamination, which is a film lamination.

How do I design my custom window clings on your website?

To make your own window cling, start by deciding what your message is. Then, pick a size that will fit your lettering. Next, add any clipart or graphics using our online design tool, located in step 3 of your ordering process. If you need assistance, contact our customer service team.

Do you have stock images I can use for my window clings?

No, we do not have any stock images or numbers for printing. All of our window clings are custom, meaning you can design them yourself, or connect with our graphic designers for assistance.

What are the best surfaces to place window clings on?

Windows of course! Window clings work best on smooth, solid surfaces. Some of these places include glass, metal and plastic. Examples include; car doors, windows , laptops or lockers. Check out our blog, “How to Install a Sticker” for more information.

What surfaces or material do window clings not stick to?

Window clings do not stick well to dirty or textured surfaces. For the highest quality application, you will want to make sure the surface is clean, dry, and smooth. If you have dirt, dust or texture under your window cling, it will not stick well and will peel off of the surface you placed it on. Reason being, the adhesive material isn’t attaching to the surface as needed when there is dirt, dust, or texture on the surface you are applying it to. Check out our blog, “How to Install a Sticker” for more information.

Does heating a window cling make it stick better?

The adhesive on a window cling works better in warmer temperatures. The ideal temperature for applying a window cling is room temperature (60 to 74 degrees Fahrenheit). It is more important to make sure it isn’t cold when applying a window cling. Just like how we don’t like to move in the cold, the glue film on the sticker will harden in the cold making it less sticky during your application. Check out our blog for more details!

How do I remove my custom window cling?

We advise using a direct heat source, such as a blow dryer or heat gun, to break the sticker's adherence. Be careful that some surfaces (on which your sticker is affixed) may sustain damage if heat is focused in one location for an extended period of time. For more information, check out our blog on sticker removal!

What’s your most affordable sticker?

It depends on your specific project and needs. Our price set is based on 5 options our customers can pick from: Cut type, material type, size, quantity, and production time. For help, contact our customer service team.
